The footage contained within this film is particularly strong in "heritage" motive power from over two decades ago. In the Clay Cross area we see Class 56/58 plus brand new Class 60s before scenes from 2013 with particular rgard to special workings. We visit Pinxton with more 1992 scenes, and Class 50s passing Upper Portland. Mansfield Woodhouse is the setting for DMUs but also a visit from a Chiltern Railways heritage unit in 2013. Moving across to Stenson Junction, we see more heritage locos including 20s and 37s before more recent scenes in the snow featuring a Class 70. Heritage DMUs on the Matlock branch come next, before recent scenes from the Doe Hill area, followed by a look at Loughborough where convoys of locos heading for the Great Central railway cross Stanford viaduct after 70s pass by on the mail line.

The third in our series of DVDs on the former L.D.E.C.R features views of 'coal trains on the surviving section of the route which, in 2012, still sees a few daily trains out of Thoresby Colliery. The other colliery on the route -Welbeck - finally closed in 2010 and many of the final trains are seen, hauIed by class 66s operated by DB, Freightliner and GBRF. The winding wheels at Welbeck are seen turning just before the demise of the colliery in our atmospheric views as the stock pile is finally cleared. Meanwhile, Thoresby continues for the foreseeable future as one of the country's last deep mines.

No commentary. In February 2013 a remarkable landslip occurred at Hatfield, east of Doncaster. This undermined the line to Scunthorpe which distorted the track causing a blockade leading to freight diversions. The former G.N & G.E. line to Gainsborough then the former G.G.R via Brigg saw previously unseen traffic levels. The opportunity has been taken to illustrate these neglected routes after a look at Hatfield before removal of the spoil from the tracks. Some manual signalling is still a feature along the routes filmed, which provides additional interest.

No commentary. This edition opens around Chesterfiled with 46233 heading north. than passing Burton Salmon, pursued by 60163. In September 2012. Barrow Hill Roundhouse hosted another model exhibition and featured visitors L & Y 1300 and Britannia 700l3. seen on the Sprlngwell shuttles. 46233 working on home territory at Butteriey with 73129 follows. but former Port of Par industrial twins ‘Alfred’and "Judy" stole the show at this event. Over at Burton-on-Trent. Hall 4965 goesthrough, then in wet weather so typical of 2012, we see Castle 5043 then A4 60009 passing Chesterfield. 5043 returns in the evening. New resident on the Churnet Valley , the former U.S.A 2-8-0 is seen struggling on the Caldon Low Line, again in miserable weather. A4 60009 is seen heading south from Ratford in atmospheric conditions as the sun tries to break through the mist. Finally. the winter gala at G.C.R Loughborough featured blue King 6023 as star guest supported by GW 2-8-0 3803 and resident locos including S.R green 777.

No commentary. The Chunet Valley Railway in early 2013 starts off this compilation. Besides their ex- USA 2-8-0 6046, a worthy visitor was Southern Class U 2-6-0 31806, both seen on the steeply graded Caldon Low section. Our next port of call is Shakerstone where the southern theme continues in rural Leicestershire. This time Beattie tank 30585 and LSWR T9 30120 are the star attractions. Alter a brief look at now blue "Tornado" at Retford we move across to Matlock where 34067 "Tangmere" arrives from London and proceeds to Rowsley where it uses the turntable. After the train returns past Matlock. we move to Chesterfield and then Tupton for a look at 46233 on a special to Scarborough. May 2013 saw ex-GWR 5643 visiting the Ecclesbourne Valley line at Wirksworth. The fields around Shottle provide the background for our feature, in a welcome bout of sunny spring weather just for a change!

No commentary. The Rotherham area comes under scrutiny this time, and we see current operations on both former Midland and Great Central lines. There is a peep under the gates of Booths scrapyard where Class 37s are awaiting their fate. The South Yorkshire Navigation canal is close by and seen in several sequences. Train 6M96 Drax - Tunstead uses the G.C line - one of few to do so - using blue hoppers. Maltby Colliery is set for closure in 2013, so we feature the area. A heritage footage from 20 years ago looks at the remains of Sheffield Victoria, then Meadowhall with a final look at Tinsley depot which no longer exists. Semaphore signals are still seen at Creswell and we see class 66s passing, before finishing at Dore & Totley in early 2013.
