Price:19.99

This charming line runs through beautiful countryside, a mixture of woods and farmland, green and lush. Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway's true light railway nature means that it turns and twists and rises and falls on improbable gradients. Delightful little Austrian coaches with balconies allow a grandstand view of the line or the locomotive and the trip is quite wonderful.

The video takes you on a memorable ride up and down the railway. The good trains that ran before the preservation era are recreated, along with shots from Galas. Many wonderful scenes visitors don't see are offered, both from the lineside and the footplate. The real atmosphere of this excellent railway comes across in the video. Prepare for an hour's viewing pleasure on the little Llanfair Train!

SUPERB PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MIXED WITH A CAREFULLY PREPARED COMMENTARY AS WE TAKE YOU ON A REALXING TOUR OF EIGHT MILES OF PURE STEAMING PLEASURE. THIS IS A RECORD OF THE RAILWAY FOR YOU TO ENJOY AS THE LINE ENTERS A NEW GOLDEN AGE. THE WELSHPOOL & LLANFAIR LIGHT RAILWAY IS TRULY A GREAT LITTLE TRAIN.

The Severn Valley and Llangollen Railways

Ref: GW211D

OUT OF STOCK

Price:12.95

See an RPS award winning video of the Severn Valley, made in 1995. The Llangollen Railway was videod in 1996, the first year of services through the Carrog. Released March 2007.

About "Severn Valley & Llangollen Railways"

GWP made an award winning, hour-long video programme on the Severn Valley Railway in 1995. It has been digitally remastered and placed on DVD.

The award by the Royal Photographic Society was made for the excellent standard of photography.

Now the programme's on DVD, that quality can be seen to real advantage for the first time, with 60009 coming down the camera, a GWR Mogul rolling over the Victoria Bridge, the Pannier tank doing its stuff - all the sights and sounds of the premier preserved railway in 1995.

The Llangollen Railway was videoed in 1996, the year that services were restored through Carrog.

The excellence of the scenery in the Valley of the River Dee is supplemented by the grace of the GWR Castle locomotive Defiant, as it gently chuffs along the valley floor with itd train. You will also see a genuine GWR Auto Train, with the regulator in the front cab of the auto-coach being used to control the 0-4-2 tank locomotive propelling. It is a compelling one hour's delight of steam in action on this scenic railway.

The Watercress Line 97 (20th Anniversay)

The Watercress Line 97 (20th Anniversay)

Ref: GW346D

Price:12.95

Quantity:

Large steam locomotives working hard star in this double feature combination of our two earlier releases shot in 1993 and 1997 on the Mid Hants Railway.

About "Watercress Line 97 (20th Anniversary)"

Two programmes are offered together on this disc, giving 120 minutes of viewing pleasure. The 'Watercress Line', made in 1993 shows the big engines in action, with footage of 76017, Canadian Pacific, Swanage, 92203, Britannia, 257 Squadron andothers, including the tne inaugrual run of newly restored Standard 5, 73096. There is a footplate ride and lots of lineside action, well edited and clealry photographed. It is by all accounts a most interesting glimpse of the scene some time ago, shot in wonderful weather and put together by broadcasting professional; so the standard of editing is excellent, there is a quality commentary and the pictures are clear and sharp.

In 1997 The Watercress Line celebrated its 20th Anniversary and this was marked with a special one-hour long video. The prgramme features the visit of the big LMS Stanier Pacific Duchess of Hamilton with linesdie and footplate scenes at the March 1997 Gala. The then recently restored SR, U Class Mogul, 31625 is featured along with footage taken through the year of locos like: LMS Black 5, M5337; LNER A4 Pacific, 60007, Sir Nigel Gresley; 73096; 31874; 30506 and 34105, Swanage.

As with all Whistler videos you can expect dramatic lineside and footplate action but now with the addition of superb DVD quality these scenes can be seen as never before, clear and sharp.

The Welsh Highland Railway is now fully restored and connected to the Ffestiniog Railway. This two foot narrow gauge railway runs 25 miles from Caernarfon on the Menai Strait in North Wales through the dramatic Snowdonia National Park to Porthmadog. The Millennium Commission, the European Union, the Welsh Assembly and many very generous private donations have raised over £28,000,000 needed to complete the project.

Our film will take you on the complete journey and features the powerful South African Garratts. With dramatic cab ride and track side action. See the track gangs at work in the Aberglaslyn Pass and the tunnels, including riding with the works train. See the railway now fully developed working as it is today in 2013. We even used a helicopter to bring you never seen before dramatic aerial views. The helicopter follows Garratt 138 from Castell Cidwn, to cross with 87 at Rhyd Ddu, then down to Beddgelert and breath taking views of the train in the Aberglaslyn pass and beyond Nantmor.
